Ryan Howard's Nostrils Are Carrying the Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies took a commanding 3-1 lead last night in the NLCS. The hit came on a game winning 2 run double in the bottom of the 9th. Jimmy Rollins was the hero and is getting all the attention today, but the real hero here is Ryan Howard and his gigantic nostrils. Before that game winning run last night Howard hit a 2 run home run in the 1st inning. This is significant because it gave him 8 straight postseason games with at least 1 RBI. Lou Gehrig is the only other player in the history of baseball to do this and that was over 7 decades ago. However, these are not the only numbers that catch your attention. Howard also tied Mike Schmidt's club record with his 6th career postseason homer. Ryan also has 14 RBIs this postseason and has reached base safely in 17 straight playoff games.

This poses the question: where is all this power coming from, Ryan?! The answer that I keep coming back to is not extra time in the cage, bat speed, or HGH... but something superhuman: that enormously broad nose. It has to possess some kind of superhuman power, giving him the strength of a Greek God... A power that has carried the Phillies deep into the playoffs, putting the Dodgers, Yankees, and Angles at a disadvantage. They are mere mortals in the shadow of the divine.
