Rookie’s Picks – 10/10


Florida (-7.5) over LSU

Forget all the talk about Tim Tebow. He is one of the greatest college football players of all-time, he’s not missing this one. He’ll play and have a solid game. The battle on the other side of the ball is the one the intrigues me.
Jordan Jefferson vs The best defense of our generation = Turnovers
Jefferson looked shakey at times against Georgia last week and often makes some bad reads while running the option. The Gators speed on the edges will take away his running ability and Jefferson will have to do it with his arm. Florida has only given up 29 points all year. Tebow will be Tebow and The Gator D will shine in the spotlight.


Michigan (+8) over Iowa

This has sucker bet written all over it, but I can't stay away. Iowa has been known to fall asleep at times this year (17-16 over Northern Iowa and 24-21 over Arkansas State) and a young Michigan team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the year. I look for a close game with Michigan possibly winning. Both Forcier and Rodriguez are looking to put their names back in the headlines. Eight points is just too many in a Big 10 battle like this one.


Arkansas (+2.5) over Auburn

Bobby Petrino and Ryan Mallett seem to be clicking very well. Mallett has thrown for over 1100 yards, 11 TD’s and only 2 picks this year leading the Razorbacks to over 35 points per game. Auburn may get caught looking ahead to Kentucky next week (ha just kidding) but Arkansas at home… getting points… with that offense… it’s time for War Eagle to be brought back down to earth after their 5-0 start.


Louisville (+1.5) over Southern Miss

What does it say about your program when you are a home dog to Southern Miss who is missing their starting QB? It is quite entertaining being a UK Fan. The Southern Miss backup has only thrown 14 passes in his entire career. With news that Coach K is going to be out in Louisville, I expect the Cards to play loose and take risks and come away with a victory.


Boston College (+14) over Virginia Tech

BC has won two straight regular season games against the Hokies. That is enough for me to take BC and the points.
