Happy New Years Eve!

This is going to be short, simple and plentiful. I am an S.E.C. homer. I admit it. The S.E.C is the best conference every year. The S.E.C could compete in the N.F.C West. The S.E.C will always be the best conference in football. So, tonight, get your Holiday started off with a peice of the Vol's! Take UT and the 5 points Vegas will allow.

Champs Sports Bowl

You get an interest match up tonight in the Champs Sports Bowl, pinning an athletic Miami team against a physical Wisconsin team. The Badgers were crushed in this bowl last year against Florida State because of a mobile quarterback in Ponder and a speed rush off the edge on defense. This Miami team has a lot of the same elements in Jacory Harris who has played well in big games this year and a Strong Pass rush for the Canes. I look for the speed on offense to give to Badgers problems and the Canes to get an extra bost from a Florida crowd. Take the Canes and give up the 3.5.

Mercury Morris Sucks!

The Colt organization and Jim Caldwell are complete pussies! I am not a fan of the Indianapolis by any measure, but I am a fan of good football. Good football is not putting in your no name back up quarterback half way through the 4th quarter to try to hold on to your undefeated season. If you want to rest your players, you have a bye week with the number one seed to do it. Not 2 weeks before the playoffs, so your players have time to get rusty and pissed off that they can't set an NFL record with a defeated season. O and Caldwell if you did a little research you would see any recent Superbowl winner has been hot heading into the post season, not losing to the pathetic New York Jets. So have fun getting your A$$ kick by the Chargers again and watching the Superbowl from your couch.

But the worst part about this whole fiasco is Mercury Morris gets to pop another bottle of champagne and continue to run his mouth. Every time he says anything about the 72 Dolphins no one under the age of 65 is listening and or cares. The Fins only played 14 regular season games that year and only beat 2 teams with a winning record. Their opponents had a combined record of 70-122-4, a .367 winning percentage. WHAT A JOKE! So sip your champagne a think about being the luckiest team of all time not the best because, there are a lot of teams in history that have went defeated against that schedule.

Independence Bowl

Texas A&M vs Georgia (-6.5)

Kickoff for this game is at 5... a very weird time. I guess they didn't want to compete with Monday Night Football, but that game is awful tonight (Vikings @ Bears)

I have news for everyone, Texas A&M is not as good as they played against Texas. That is the only A&M game that most people have seen all year. Georgia has had a down year but finished strong with a huge win over ACC Champ Georgia Tech. A&M played an SEC team earlier this year on a neutral field... result? 47-19 L against Arkansas.

Take the Bulldogs and lay the points.

The Music City Bowl

Clemson(-6.5) vs Kentucky

The Wildcats are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to rival Tennesee in the last game of the year, that would have given the school a great bowl game, instead of another Music City Bowl. Clemson, is in the same boat. The Tigers were beat down by South Carolina then lost a tough game to Georgia Tech in the A.C.C championship game. These two teams met in the 2006 Music City Bowl and Kentucky was a able to pull off a major upset as 10.5 point dogs. Coach Brooks' teams have won their last 3 bowl games, defeating the likes of Clemson, Florida State and East Carolina. This should be a good football game, but I think the U.K. run defense will be exposed by Clemson running back, C.J. Spiller. Spiller is arguably the best running back in the country and should have been invited to New York, for the Heisman trophy ceremony. I look for Spiller to come out with something to prove and gash the realing U.K. run defense.

To all of you out there who say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas... well I would like to tell you to F off, but that wouldn't be very Christ like. Anyways.

Friday Night NFL Football... I don't think I've ever said that, but I'm sure not going to complain. Much better than that Big East stuff we had to suffer through every Friday night during the College Football Season.

The Titans are 7-1 since Vince Young took over and you can bet they will be playing with some emotion tonight. Having won nine straight, the Chargers have the #2 seed all but locked up. I don't expect SD to play with much urgency tonight, and the Titans will be the exact opposite. Take Vince and the Titans and look for some holiday magic!

Hawaii Bowl: SMU (+12) vs Nevada

Nevada is the first team in FBS history to have three different players rush for over 1,000 yards in the same season. Problem is... two of those are out for this game. The only 1,000 yard rusher left is QB Colin Kaepernick who is no doubt a playmaker, but not enough of one to carry them over the 12 point spread. As we have seen so far this bowl season, underdogs typically play very well. Take SMU and have a very Merry Christmas!

Is there anything hotter than a cougar, drinking a huge beer while doing the John Wall Dance? For me the answer is a resounding NO! I have been in love with Courtney Cox since Friends and it seems like she continues to get hotter with age. However, this picture takes it to a whole new level!

THE WORST PLAY IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL!!!!

If you were like me and stopped watching the Monday Night Game last night because it was over half way though the first quarter, you probably missed this! I don't even know where to start with this disaster. Observation 1: This might be an indicator of why Jim Zorn will no longer be the coach of the Washington Redskins next season. Observation 2: If you ever send a kicker in motion, nothing good is going to result from that play. Observation 3: The Skins had tanked the game well before that play (only one guy tried to catch the poorly thrown ball as the rest turned to the sidelines and asked "are you F*cking kidding me!) Observation 4: No matter how much money you spend in an offsetting, shitty organizations produce shitty results!

BYU vs Oregon State (-2.5)

The MAACO Las Vegas Bowl is tonight in... you guess it, Las Vegas. The Beavers were oh so close to making the Rose Bowl, but a loss to Oregon dropped them all the way to this game. Jacquizz Rodgers is one of the more underrated backs in all of college football. This season he rushed for 1377 yards and 20 TD's and also had 504 yards receiving with a TD. Those look like Heisman numbers! (He also threw a touchdown) His brother James is the teams leading receiver (1004 yards and 9 TD's) and second leading rusher. Look for a whole lot of Rogers brothers tonight... Beavers -2.5.

Fearless NFL Picks

It is officially that time of year again. Handicappers now must not only worry about injuries, let downs, look aheads, starters resting for playoffs, divisional games, etc, but also, the Weather! The East Coast has been drilled with winter weather and we will see that today.

Eagles -7.5
The Eagles have an explosive offense that can put points up in a hurry. Today, D-Jack and McNabb, will welcome in a 49ers team that is flying across the country to play in several inches of snow and blistering conditions. The 'Niners are coming off a huge win over the Cards and this looks like too much to overcome in Philly today.

Ravens - 11
Baltimore is battling for their playoff lives, where as the Bears have chalked up their chances at a playoff birth when they signed Jay Cutler. Chicago flew into Balt. last night and will be expected to play in terrible conditions less than 24 hours after a plane ride.

The "under" has been lights out this year in the NFL, including a 6-0 record at Mile High.

Sunday Locks

The Bengals are still 6-1 ATS as an underdog this season after a bad loss to the Vikings last weekend. They also play with extra motivation after the tragic loss of Chris Henry. Cincy +7

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but the Steelers have been terrible this year with out Troy. Now they have a tough test with the instantly good Packers coming into to town. Green Bay has one of the best pass rushes in the game and Pitts O-Line has been awful, Green Bay +2.5

The Jets offense has not given me any reason over the past 6 weeks to think they can cover a 7 point spread. Even if Turn and Ryan don't play the Falcon defense is good enough and the New York offense bad enough to keep this game close. Atlanta +7

Southern Miss and MTSU square off in the New Orleans Bowl tonight. I look for the Golden Eagles to get a big game from senior running back Damion Fletcher, who became the school’s all-time leading rusher (by 700-plus yards) as a junior. Fletcher has added on to those numbers in 2009, rushing for 937 yards and eight touchdowns on 202 carries. For his career, he has 5,224 rushing yards and 44 TDs. I am taking the Eagles -3.5 and enjoying college football on a Sunday Night.

It's finally Bowl Season!!!

We all know college football needs a playoff and blah blah blah, but as a gambler, you gotta appreciate the Bowl Season. 2 Bowl games, a huge NFL game and a ton of good college basketball games today... Let's ride!

SAINTS (-7.5) over Cowboys
Seems to me like this line should be around 10, which made me want to take the Cowboys at first. Everyone knows Dallas is bad in December, but that is not why I'm going against them. The Saints are winning their games at home by an average of 15 points and who can forget the show they put on against the Patriots in a Prime time game a couple of weeks ago.

Rutgers (-2.5) over Central Florida (St. Petersburg Bowl)
This line is a bit fishy to me... I thought it should be around 7. UCF is playing close to home, but they are out of their league in this match-up. There has been a lot of talk about how bad the Big East is, and rightfully so. Schiano is a solid coach, the Scarlet Knights will be ready to play.

Wyoming (+10.5) over Fresno St (New Mexico Bowl)
Wyoming has only been to two bowls since 1992. Meaning that despite how lame this bowl is, this is one of the biggest games in the history of their program. That alone is enough to take the 10.5 points. Look for them to play with a lot more emotion than Fresno early on.

Florida (-7) over Richmond (N)
Moving to college basketball... Richmond has a couple of nice wins this year (Mississippi St & Missouri), but have dropped their last two including including an 18 point loss at the hands of South Carolina. The Gators suffered their first loss of the season in their last game against Syracuse and I look for them to bounce back here.

BUTLER (-6) over Xavier
X won a very emotional game against their rival UC and have only played one true road game this year and lost (71-56 at Kansas St). They already have three losses to date and I really don't think this team is as good some of the others they have had the past few years.

North Carolina (+7) over Texas (Game being played at Cowboy Stadium)
This is the first real test for the Longhorns. UNC is young, but they have already played against some very good teams this year (Kentucky, Syracuse, Michigan St and Ohio St). Seven points is too many for them to be getting against anyone.

Rest in Peace Chris Henry

Fox 19 and other outlets are reporting that Bengals WR Chris Henry has passed away this morning. This is very sad news as it had seemed like Slim had turned the corner and started to get his life back on track. RIP Chris Henry... you will be missed.

Sunday NFL picks

San Diego +3.5
The Chargers are playing really good Football. It seems like they always get "hot" this time of year, but still find a way to lose early in the playoffs. The Chargers are my pick, as of now, to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Everyone is aware of Tony Romo's trouble in the month of December and I look for him to start this December 0-2. The Chargers are getting points here, but the money line may not be a bad place to put your money...

Rams +13
Thirteen points in the NFL is A LOT. Especially against a team like the Titans. IF the St. Louis defense can keep Chris Johnson in front of them and not let him tear off any 80 yard runs, I think the Rams can keep it under 2 scores.

Green Bay -3
The Bears season is all but over, where as the Packers still have a lot to play for (including my fantasy playoffs, as I have Rodgers and the Packers D) A victory for the Pack today, could go along way in their drive for the playoffs.

The National Championship

So the moment we have all been waiting for, the College Football TOURNAMENT National Championship! (Its going to happen sooner or later) The Alabama Crimson Tide vs The Texas Christians Horn Frogs, 2 very talented teams with a chance to play for an undisputed title. Something that has not happen quite a while, since the BCS keeps pushing free money off the table. I see this being a VERY physical game on both sides of the ball, a lot of big hits and exciting plays. Both teams would try to establish the run early and not make many mistakes, but its the quarterbacks that ultimately make the difference in this game. In my eyes Greg McElroy is slightly better than Andy Dalton and makes a couple more big plays down the stretch. People also forget that McElory has not lost a game as a starter in High School or College, that my friends is a little tough to be against!

Notre Dame has their guy

As much as it pains me to say, Notre Dame got it right this time. Brian Kelly is a great coach with a proven philosophy who refuses to lose. He has a rare combination of charisma, politicking and arrogance that the Irish have been lacking with the dufus known as Charlie Weis. Whether you think Kelly screwed UC or not, nobody can deny his ability to run a college football program. Don't expect much out of ND this coming year, but it won't be long before they are backing into BCS bowls again.

Round 2

So we move on to the second round of the NCAA playoffs...god that sounds good! The excitement continues to grow as we get closer and closer to the National Championship and the match ups get better and better.

1.Alabama vs. 5Boise State - The Broncos get another chance to play BCS buster and they get the number 1 ranked team in the country. You would see all of the exciting elements that the Oklahoma & Boise game had; lots of offense, trick plays, and 2 point conversion followed by wedding proposals. I think this game would be closer than what people think, but Mark Ingram would prove to be to much for the Bronco Defense. He would rack up at least 150 in a seven point win.

2. Texas vs. 3. TCU - Could you imagine the hype surrounding this game. I mean even the state of Texas isn't big enough for 2 undefeated teams...We would get the match up of a fundamentally sound and extremely balanced Texas Christian Team against the talent of the Long Horns. Not to mention interest of a mid major battling a traditional power for the chance to get to the National Title Game. I think the pressure on the Long horns would prove to be to much, TCU is an extremely talented football team but would be looked at as a major under dog heading into this game. (O and if you have not see the 2 teams play yet this year TCU is a lot better than Nebraska)

We Talking About Playoffs

Since the BCS is so terrible and refuses to even think about the idea of an 8 team playoff, the Bookie is going to provide you with a College Football Bracket. Today we look at the opening round games and the excitement that would come with it.

1. Alabama vs 8. Ohio State - This would give us another chance for the Big 10 to get smacked down by the SEC. The Buckeyes struggles against the South Eastern Conference have been well documented and in my eyes this year would be no different. Alabama's defense would just be way to fast for Pryor and the rest of the Buckeyes to get any offense going.

2. Texas vs 7. Oregon - What an exciting game this would be! The Horns and Ducks both have extremely athletic quarterbacks with the ability to move the ball up and down the field. Masoli and McCoy can beat you with their arms and legs. I would look for the Horns to win an absolute shoot out, but the Ducks to put up an extremely entertaining fight.

3. TCU vs. 6 Florida - The nation would finally get to see how good this Horn Frog team truly is. They have extremely balanced offense and a Staggering Defense. And yes I know Florida is more talented but would have less to play for. I will take a talented team with something to prove in bowl games all day long.

4. Cincinnati vs. 5. Boise State - Another game that might draw some mid 70's over/under numbers in Vegas. Both teams have great offenses and skeptical defenses, so if you like offense and trick plays what more could you ask for. If you are looking at winner in this game I will take the Broncos because of their win against the Ducks. This game showed that Boise can beat a good team on a big stage, something UC has yet to do.

Six Major Conferences? Try two.

The SEC and PAC 10 have separated themselves from the rest of the pack in college football this season. Most considered this a "down" year for the SEC, outside of Alabama and Florida. The crazy thing is that they were "down" and STILL the best conference. The PAC 10 had a very nice year as well, but c'mon, they still don't play any Defense. They are hands down the second best conference. Let's look at the other "Major Conferences"

Big 10 - Ohio State wins again, surprise. Iowa went into the Shoe without a terrible backup QB and took the Buckeyes to overtime in the defacto Big 10 title game. Michigan and Illinois were major flops and Penn State didn't win a big game all year. Just a slow, boring conference that declined even further this year.

ACC - Clemson and Georgia Tech were the top two teams in the conference this year, but middle of the road SEC teams took them down in the final week of the regular season this year. Georgia Tech will play Iowa in a BCS bowl... what!?!?!? V Tech was a disappointment. FSU and Miami played that great game early in the season and everyone thought both were "back" but really they were just average teams that made each other look good. Everyone keeps on waiting for this conference to arrive and at this point the question is, will it ever?

Big 12 - Losing Bradford really prevented the Big 12 from having two Top 10 teams, but injuries are a part of the game. After winning @Oklahoma State (who was also a flop), was at least a 3 TD favorite in their next four games and then a 14 point favorite against Nebraska, who was very average as well. The Big 12 North only put two teams over .500 on the year, just awful. As big a step the Big 12 made last year forward, they made an even further step back this year.

Big East - Cincinnati is pretty legit. After that this may be the worst of them all, which is saying a lot. Pittsburgh is supposed to be the second best team, but lost to NC State out of conference (who is bad beyond words). WVU, Rutgers and UCONN are all below average teams. Louisville and Syracuse have arguments for the worst teams in BCS conferences. With only eight teams, it is a joke to give this conference champion an automatic BCS bid.

What We Learned

Good teams find a way to win! i.e (Saints , Cincinnati Bearcats, Colts and the Wildcats)

The Patriots are in trouble! I think they are going to win their division but not a playoff game. That defense is BAD!

The BCS sucks! I would much rather watch TCU beat Florida or Georgia Tech than another mid major.

John Wall is really Athletic, if he finds open floor on a fast break at bare minimum he is shooting free throws.

Motivation plays a huge factor late in the college football season. Didn't it look like the Tide wanted a little revenge on Tebow?

ITS BOWL SEASON!!!!!

Tis the season to be jolly! I mean college football is the perfect hybrid of Christmas and Hanukkah, giving you presents in the form of bowl games for 19 days. This all culmianting in the Celebration of the National Championship on January 7th pinning 2 undefeated teams agasint each other in the form of Texas and Alabama. I am already looking forward to December 19th for some good football and great gambling. Good Luck this Season and be looking for some winners all season long.

Sunday NFL Picks

The playoff races are really starting to heat up and the weather could play a part in many of the remaining games. Keep both of those factors in mind when handicapping the NFL card.

I have heard all week that the Saints are due for a let down and how good Washingtons defense is. I don't buy it. The Saints are a machine on offense and I look for them to hang some points on the 'Skins.

The Patriots were dominated in every aspect of the game by New Orleans. Belechick and Brady will be ready to get back on the field today. If New England is going to make a serious playoff run, I think the offense has to get back on track today.

Indy has been winning games dramatically this year. When all things are set though, Vince Young is all drama. Think how many great finishes Vince has been invovled with over his college and NFL career. Take Vince and his heroics plus the 7 points Indy is laying.

Roll Tide

Alabama has the best front 7 on defense in the nation, all projected to be drafted next year if they all leave. Florida has no real deep threat to spread this defense out. Look for a low scoring game with a game winning field goal as time runs out from the Tide. I am going to take the +5.5 just in case, but Tebow is going down tonight!

Dog House

Texas and Nebraska are meeting in the Big 12 Championship game this weekend, a game that no one is excited or even talking about. I believe its because Texas has under archived this season regardless of their record. Colt the Heisman leader but he will be the first person to tell you he has not played to his expectations, but there are are bigger issues than their quarterback. Their defense can stop Texas A&M (a terrible team) which is going to be a big challenge IF they make it to the National Championship game. This is where is IF comes in, Nebraska is a good team that is ridding a 5 game winning steak. I look for the Corn Huskers to play a big game and keep this one close. I am taking Nebraska +14 and looking for Texas to keep under achieving.

Now to the other piece of the National Championship puzzle. The SEC title game is going to be a battle between to power houses. To me this is going to be an instant classic, Tim Tebows last SEC game against a defense with all front 7 player expected to be drafted. Its not easy to pick against Tebow but I'm doing it. Thursday Night Football!

There are two games on the card tonight. One on the east coast (Jets @ Bills) and one out west as Oregon State visits Eugene.

Both the Jets and Bills are coming off of wins. The Jets opened up as a 1 point road favorite, but the line has moved to three at most books. The total is set at 37. Looking back at October 18th the Bills went on the road as 9 point pups and covered easily, losing 16-13. This is a different Buffalo team now than it was then. Eventhough the money is going to the Jets, take the home team and 3 points tonight in this divisonal game.

There is a lot on the line tonight in Eugene, Oregon. The winner gets a shot at Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, which many would assume another Rose Bowl victory for the Pac-10. I don't have a clue in tonights game. The Ducks are laying 9.5 at home and the total is high at 63 and rising. Oregon has been so up and down this year. One week Primetime is saying that Oregon is the best team in the country, the next week Dubs is picking Stanford to beat them. With that said, I think that the Beavers are the play tonight. They have lost 3 Football games all year to 3 pretty good teams. (USC,Arizona & U.C.) Couple that with Oregon State being 4-1 ATS this year with an experienced QB, take the Beavs' and the points tonight.

* I have noticed however that Oregon does have one of the hottest cheerleadering squads in the country, though.

Lane Kiffin is at it again

In an interview with a Knoxville radio station, Kiffin had this to say about the SEC Championship game this Saturday...

"It's kind of hard to call," Kiffin said. "There's a bunch of great players on both teams. Florida has so much speed. I think you'll see that Alabama will out-scheme Florida, and Florida has given up 28 sacks this year when a bunch of guys come free. But the problem is Superman [Tim Tebow] is back there. A Legend Steps Down

College Football lost an all-time great today as Bobby Bowden announced his retirement this morning. He will not only be remembered as one of the greatest coaches of all time but also as an even better human being. Unfortunately, to some of the younger generations he may not be remembered this way. If you were born in the 90's or later, you never got to see the legend at work. Just a fun-loving man with a thick southern accent winding down his career. To others he will be remembered a hero, both on and off the field. Bowden is 80 years young and has won 388 games in his career at Samford, West Virginia and Florida State over a span of 34 seasons. Bobby can polish 2 National Titles in 1993 and 1996 and look back on a span of 14 seasons where he went 152-19-1, all ending in 10 win seasons. He can remember finishing ranked in the top 5 of the AP poll in each of thsoe seasons. However, he will be the first person to tell you that the wins are great, but the the communities, friendships, and relationships he has built over the years is what has kept him going. Bowden has gained the respect of every person who has been fortunate enough to come in contact with him. For that reason, his former players, coaches and colleagues are the one who have stood by his side, saying the Old Ball Coach should be able to step down on his own terms. Regardless of whether the timing is right...Bobby you are going to be greatly missed!

It's official... Brees > Brady

It is officially time for Tom Brady to pass the torch to Drew Brees. Brees threw for 367 yards, 5 TD's and finished with a perfect passer rating. Brady, on the other hand, had 0 TD's and 2 INT's. Going into the game I really kind of thought that the Pats would get it done. The Patriots are 7-4 and haven't won a road game this entire season. They are lucky they are in one of the worst divisions in football or they'd be on the outside looking in come playoff time. It's time for you bangwagon Pats fans to face reality, Brady and the Patriots' best days are behind them. Don't get me wrong, Tom is still a Top 5 QB in the league, but he isn't the player he once was.

Monday Night Preview

What a game!!!! I have been excited about this one since the end of the Colt & Patriots game 2 weeks ago. You knew then Saints where going to stay undefeated and the Pats where going to be playing with extra motivation heading into Monday Night. So the question is who do you play? To me you can make a STRONG case to bet either team tonight:

Saints
-Undefeated, with the best offense in the League
-New Orleans in 5-0 ATS as single digit favorites this season
-They are averaging 153 yards on the ground to match Brees's huge numbers

Pats
-The intangibles of a Superbowl Coach and Quarterback
-New England has won 17 straight regular season game against the AFC
-The last 5 games (including the Colts) they have out scored their opponents 188 to 73

I can't pick a winner...both of these offenses are to good! To me this game will come down to whoever gets the ball last. For that reason, I am taking the over 57.5 and looking for a high tempo and a lot of points.

What We Learned

Lones Seiber is really good at missing clutch field goals!

The Texas Defense is going to struggle with whoever comes out of the SEC championship game.

The SEC is Freaking Good! (Smacking down the top of the ACC and getting 10 of 12 teams bowl eligible)

The girls on the Hills have more maturity than the coaches in the PAC-10, but it makes late night football really funny!

Vince Young is good, but Chris Johnson is a lot better!

Dennis Dixion is going to play somewhere in the league next year. It may not be Pittsburgh, but he would look good in a Redskin or Panthers uniform.

USC took a knee up 21-7 with under a minute to play against rival UCLA. The brilliant UCLA coach Rick Neuheisal called a timeout and this was next...

Sunday Comeback Picks.

Yesterday was tough for the BluegrassBookies, I will try to provide three winners to regain some momentum.

Arizona +1.5
The Cards have been tremendous on the road ATS and SU this year. Warner looks to be healthy again. The Titans have looked good since starting Vince at QB, but still, the Cards are the better team and are getting points.

Over Seattle St. Louis 42.5

San Diego -13.5
The Bolts have looked great recently. Looks like Rivers and LT are hitting their stride. The Chiefs are coming off of 2 wins and a big overtime win over Pittsburg. I know this is a division game, but KC could be due for a let down.

Rivalry Saturday

Number 12 Oklahoma State wraps up a BCS birth today with a win against a banged up Oklahoma team. Zach Robinson is getting the start against a Sooners team that has lost motivation after a terrible performance against Texas Tech. Take the Cowboys +7.5 or +225 on the money line.

Flordia State has been terrible this year as a favorite but solid as an uderdog. I don't look for them to win today but they are getting 24.5 points in a rivarly game. Noles +24.5

Stanford is very good at home, coming off a tough loss but with the potitional to get into a good bowl game, and a bad A$$ running back. Norta Dame can't stop the run and at in a swirl of contraversy. The Tree -10

Hawaii can't stop the run and Navy 3rd in the country in rushing. This is not a good combination for the Rainbow Warriers, I am taking the Midshipmen -10 and look for a BIG win.

UK has not beat Tenessee since 1984...That changes today. Randall Cobb has a huge day, the Cats get a big win, and Lexington parties like there is no tomorrow. Wildcats +3 and a pint of bourbon to keep you warm for the game tonight.

GEORGIA TECH (-7) over Georgia
The Dawgs have to be deflated after a crushing loss to my Wildcats last week between the Hedges. Georgia (6-5) now must travel to meet a very underrated and overlooked Georgia Tech team that is 10-1. The Yellow Jackets ran for over 400 yards last year at Georgia... look for more of the same today.

Navy (-10) over HAWAII
Sticking with the option teams... the five best teams Hawaii has played this year have rushed for 352, 277, 194, 193 and 312 respectively against the Rainbow homos. Navy AVERAGES 282.5 on the ground. The Midshipman will run all over them and steamroll into next weeks game against Army.

SOUTH CAROLINA (+3.5) over Clemson
As we have seen so far this weekend (Texas, Alabama), rivalry games on the road are usually tougher than expected. Clemson is known for late season let downs and had a tough time putting away a bad Virginia team last week. The old ball coach has had two weeks to prepare for this one and is riding a three game losing streak. The Gamecocks have NFL talent in a few different places on defense, they will slow down CJ Spiller. I like USC to win the game... I love them getting 3.5 points.
TCU (-44.5) over New Mexico
The Horned Frogs are 6-0 SU & ATS in their last six. Let's keep riding that train. The is the last chance TCU has to make an impression on the public. New Mexico is 1-10... this one will get really ugly early.
Florida State (+24.5) over FLORIDA
The Gators on senior day will be impossible to beat. However, with Alabama looming next week, I think the Seminoles will put up a fight this week. 24.5 points is a lot... heck 41-17 gets you home! I'm rolling with the Noles.

Dallas has been struggling on offense as of late and as slick pointed out, Jerry Jones wants to focus on the run more. No way Oakland can surprise another division leader, but they can keep it close with their stingy defense and cover the 13 point spread.

Thanksgiving Day - NFL

What in the hell do we have to be thankful for in the games today? Who gives a shit about tradition... the Lions need to have their game revoked. Dallas I guess I am fine with, but giving the Raiders the right to play on this day? Really? For the record, this is the second national prime time game for Oakland (they also played on Monday night to open up the season). These kinds of games have been ruining Turkey Day around the nation for awhile now. They finally added a night game to spice things up a little bit, but even that features two teams who have collapsed terribly since starting very hot. This needs to get fixed fast OR... the NCAA needs to step in and take notice. There's no doubt some of these rivalry games could step in and get better ratings than the games we have going on in the NFL today. Everyone looks to these games as something to watch and get away from the family small talk, but how long can you fake being interested in a Lions game? Or a Raiders game? I'm going to eat until I can't anymore and sleep through these miserable games.

Oh yea... parlay GB, Dallas and Denver all straight up.

A Trio of Turkey Day Picks

Ahh yes, Thanksgiving. A time to relax from hectic work week and gather together with family and friends. A time to indulge ourselves in wonderful food and desserts. And most importantly, a time to remind ourselves of all the things we're thankful for. Well we here at BluegrassBookie are thankful for many things, and NFL football is one of those many things. The Matchups:

Green Bay Packers (-11.5) @ Detroit Lions

The Packers and Aaron Rodgers have looked a little better in the past couple of weeks. The Lions beat the Browns in the most surprising fashion ever...winning by one point 38-37. The problem I'm having with actually picking the Lions at home on Thanksgiving is that (besides the fact that they have been dominated for the last 5 years on Thanksgiving) is that Matt Stafford is doubtful and Calvin Johnson is questionable. That's not a good recipe for beating the spread, even at home. I'm taking the Packers who should unleash that passing game all over the Lions secondary.

Oakland Raiders @ Dallas Cowboys (-13.5)

This is my surprise pick of Turkey Day. I'm so mad that the Raiders beat my Bengals last week, but it's not going to stop me from taking them in Dallas. I don't think that the Raiders are actually going to beat Dallas, but I think they can keep Dallas from covering. Jerra Jones wants the Boys to focus more on the running game and less on the passing game, but we all know that with Tony Romo running the show he's going to be pass happy. Bad news for Dallas, Witten could be out, and so could be Dallas' chances of covering.

New York Giants (-6.5) @ Denver Broncos

The Giants pulled out a win over the Atlanta Falcons last week at home and Eli Manning looked more like himself from earlier this season. The Broncos on the other hand... well after starting out 6-0, they have lost 4 in a row; including that debauchel last week with Saint Diego. I definitely agree with Dubs on the fact that having Chris Simms as your quaterback is never a good thing. Denver may get Orton back this week, but I expect the Giants to cover the spread. The G-men are 3-2 ATS on the road this season.
