Rivalry Saturday

Number 12 Oklahoma State wraps up a BCS birth today with a win against a banged up Oklahoma team. Zach Robinson is getting the start against a Sooners team that has lost motivation after a terrible performance against Texas Tech. Take the Cowboys +7.5 or +225 on the money line.

Flordia State has been terrible this year as a favorite but solid as an uderdog. I don't look for them to win today but they are getting 24.5 points in a rivarly game. Noles +24.5

Stanford is very good at home, coming off a tough loss but with the potitional to get into a good bowl game, and a bad A$$ running back. Norta Dame can't stop the run and at in a swirl of contraversy. The Tree -10

Hawaii can't stop the run and Navy 3rd in the country in rushing. This is not a good combination for the Rainbow Warriers, I am taking the Midshipmen -10 and look for a BIG win.

UK has not beat Tenessee since 1984...That changes today. Randall Cobb has a huge day, the Cats get a big win, and Lexington parties like there is no tomorrow. Wildcats +3 and a pint of bourbon to keep you warm for the game tonight.

GEORGIA TECH (-7) over Georgia
The Dawgs have to be deflated after a crushing loss to my Wildcats last week between the Hedges. Georgia (6-5) now must travel to meet a very underrated and overlooked Georgia Tech team that is 10-1. The Yellow Jackets ran for over 400 yards last year at Georgia... look for more of the same today.

Navy (-10) over HAWAII
Sticking with the option teams... the five best teams Hawaii has played this year have rushed for 352, 277, 194, 193 and 312 respectively against the Rainbow homos. Navy AVERAGES 282.5 on the ground. The Midshipman will run all over them and steamroll into next weeks game against Army.

SOUTH CAROLINA (+3.5) over Clemson
As we have seen so far this weekend (Texas, Alabama), rivalry games on the road are usually tougher than expected. Clemson is known for late season let downs and had a tough time putting away a bad Virginia team last week. The old ball coach has had two weeks to prepare for this one and is riding a three game losing streak. The Gamecocks have NFL talent in a few different places on defense, they will slow down CJ Spiller. I like USC to win the game... I love them getting 3.5 points.
TCU (-44.5) over New Mexico
The Horned Frogs are 6-0 SU & ATS in their last six. Let's keep riding that train. The is the last chance TCU has to make an impression on the public. New Mexico is 1-10... this one will get really ugly early.
Florida State (+24.5) over FLORIDA
The Gators on senior day will be impossible to beat. However, with Alabama looming next week, I think the Seminoles will put up a fight this week. 24.5 points is a lot... heck 41-17 gets you home! I'm rolling with the Noles.

What a great day to kick back, enjoy food, family, friends and of course some betting! As I was going through google looking for pictures of a "hot Green Bay Cheerleader" I came across the above picture and thought it was hillarious. Has nothing to do with my picks that are about to follow, just thought it was funny.

I can clinch the number one seed today in my fantasy league and Aaron Rodgers is my QB 1, who has carried me all year. Thanks Aaron, if you read this today. The Lions will be without Matthew Stafford and Dante Cullpepper will try to step in today. A good friend once told me the following..." Fuck Ferg, Culpepper couldn't take a Pro Bowl team to the playoffs!" Dante Culpper and a bad, banged up defense should be in trouble today as Aaron Rodgers should let it fly all over them today!

Oakland +13.
Dallas has been struggling on offense as of late and as slick pointed out, Jerry Jones wants to focus on the run more. No way Oakland can surprise another division leader, but they can keep it close with their stingy defense and cover the 13 point spread.

Thanksgiving Day - NFL

(Best moment in NFL Thanksgiving history!!!)

What in the hell do we have to be thankful for in the games today? Who gives a shit about tradition... the Lions need to have their game revoked. Dallas I guess I am fine with, but giving the Raiders the right to play on this day? Really? For the record, this is the second national prime time game for Oakland (they also played on Monday night to open up the season). These kinds of games have been ruining Turkey Day around the nation for awhile now. They finally added a night game to spice things up a little bit, but even that features two teams who have collapsed terribly since starting very hot. This needs to get fixed fast OR... the NCAA needs to step in and take notice. There's no doubt some of these rivalry games could step in and get better ratings than the games we have going on in the NFL today. Everyone looks to these games as something to watch and get away from the family small talk, but how long can you fake being interested in a Lions game? Or a Raiders game? I'm going to eat until I can't anymore and sleep through these miserable games.

Oh yea... parlay GB, Dallas and Denver all straight up.

A Trio of Turkey Day Picks

Ahh yes, Thanksgiving. A time to relax from hectic work week and gather together with family and friends. A time to indulge ourselves in wonderful food and desserts. And most importantly, a time to remind ourselves of all the things we're thankful for. Well we here at BluegrassBookie are thankful for many things, and NFL football is one of those many things. So if you're on board with us, and I know you are, then you're ready to watch some of the most boring matchups on the NFL schedule. Do yourself a favor and make the games interesting by wagering with your family or local legalized gambling facility.

The Matchups:

Green Bay Packers (-11.5) @ Detroit Lions

The Packers and Aaron Rodgers have looked a little better in the past couple of weeks. The Lions beat the Browns in the most surprising fashion ever...winning by one point 38-37. The problem I'm having with actually picking the Lions at home on Thanksgiving is that (besides the fact that they have been dominated for the last 5 years on Thanksgiving) is that Matt Stafford is doubtful and Calvin Johnson is questionable. That's not a good recipe for beating the spread, even at home. I'm taking the Packers who should unleash that passing game all over the Lions secondary.

Oakland Raiders @ Dallas Cowboys (-13.5)

This is my surprise pick of Turkey Day. I'm so mad that the Raiders beat my Bengals last week, but it's not going to stop me from taking them in Dallas. I don't think that the Raiders are actually going to beat Dallas, but I think they can keep Dallas from covering. Jerra Jones wants the Boys to focus more on the running game and less on the passing game, but we all know that with Tony Romo running the show he's going to be pass happy. Bad news for Dallas, Witten could be out, and so could be Dallas' chances of covering.

New York Giants (-6.5) @ Denver Broncos

The Giants pulled out a win over the Atlanta Falcons last week at home and Eli Manning looked more like himself from earlier this season. The Broncos on the other hand... well after starting out 6-0, they have lost 4 in a row; including that debauchel last week with Saint Diego. I definitely agree with Dubs on the fact that having Chris Simms as your quaterback is never a good thing. Denver may get Orton back this week, but I expect the Giants to cover the spread. The G-men are 3-2 ATS on the road this season.
